Who I am

My name is John Hirchak, and I am a professional front-end web designer / developer based out of Southern Ontario, Canada. I am a creative thinker who is passionate about clean design and code. I built this website so that I can can express my creativity and document my development research.

Ever since I can remember, I have always been extremely interested in technology and multimedia. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to grow up in a time when the Internet was still in a state of infancy. This gave me the chance to learn the ins and outs and develop a solid foundation. I spent my almost half of my life learning various applications like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design and After Affects, while still focusing on front-end integration with languages such as HTML, CSS and jQuery.

Aside from my professional interests, I am also passionate about music. I have been playing guitar for over 10 years now and am absolutely in love with Rock and Blues music. I find that playing instruments help to sharpen the mind. It is a form of problem solving and helps dust off those dusty brain cells.

Weightlifting is another hobby of mine. It is very important to work out your mind as well as your body in order to maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle. When I'm not in the gym working out, you can find me at home relaxing to a cozy game of Call of Duty on PS3, watching a movie, or taking my two lovely dogs Casey and Lyla out for a stroll.
